Spirit of Norway take the field as strong favouritesDubai: Spirit of Norway go in as strong favourites in the Honda British Grand Prix the fifth round of the UIM Class One World Powerboat Championship in Plymouth this week. Though Spirit of Norway lead the title race by 17 points, they have not had it going their way this season. And when the defending World Champions line up in Plymouth tomorrow, they will be wary of the threat that the list of would-be challengers is growing after each race this season. New hotel soonClose to seven hundred Barbadians will find employment at the new Four Seasons Hotel when it is completed in another three years. Developer of the west coast property, Michael Pemberton says training of the employees will be a priority from early next year. Pemberton says tenders are out for construction of the five star hotel which is expected to cost about six hundred million dollars. But he disclosed that he's already in negotiations with a number of international construction firms, including some who have built large global brands in Dubai. Firms with over 100 staff 'must' emiratise HR postsDubai: Companies with more than 100 employees will have to emiratise their national human resources managerial positions, according to an administrative decision issued by the Ministry of Labour yesterday. The decision issued by Dr Khalid Al Khazraji, Labour undersecretary and Acting Director-General of the National Human Resources and Employment Authority (Tanmia), stipulates that companies with over 100 employees will have to emiratise their human resources managerial positions within 18 months. The process must start immediately. If these companies find it difficult to meet this target, they have the option to emiratise human resources positions in two phases. In the first phase, they must emiratise 50 per cent of all human resources positions within 18 months. read more. Redoute's Choice has been the benchmark stallion, winning his first champion sire of Australasia title, with a $1.8 million margin, as well as being the leading sire of two-year-olds for the season. Expat secretaries to be allowed new positionsDubai: Expatriate secretaries will be able to continue working for their employers as long as the title and nature of their positions are adjusted, said a senior labour official. Dr Khalid Al Khazraji, Undersecretary of Labour, said that although secretarial positions were to be emiratised, employers were being given the option to keep their former expatriate secretaries as long as they were given alternative positions. "There is a need for flexibility in implementing the rules. The idea is to encourage companies to employ UAE nationals," he said. However, he added that secretarial positions were exclusively reserved for UAE nationals.
