New hotel soonClose to seven hundred Barbadians will find employment at the new Four Seasons Hotel when it is completed in another three years. Developer of the west coast property, Michael Pemberton says training of the employees will be a priority from early next year. Pemberton says tenders are out for construction of the five star hotel which is expected to cost about six hundred million dollars. But he disclosed that he's already in negotiations with a number of international construction firms, including some who have built large global brands in Dubai. (PTI): IT majors Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro have evinced interest in acquiring land for setting up campuses at Infopark at nearby Kakkanad, Chief Minister V S Achutanandan said on Friday. The Chief Minister, who visited the Infopark on Friday morning and spent about 20 minutes talking to officials, later told reporters that about 25,000 people would get employment by 2008 when the development of the park would be more or less completed. Infopark would not be a subject of discussion during the talks being held on Friday and Saturday at Thiruvananthapuram with the officials of Dubai Internet City (DIC) in connection with the setting up of the Kochi Smart city project, he said. Bahrain Blaze Survivors to Sue Construction FirmBahrain, Aug 5: The survivors of Sundays labour-camp fire in Bahrain, in which 17 Indian workers lost their lives and nine were injured, have decided to file a class action civil suit against their employer, the Royal Tower Construction Company. The survivors have refused to go back to work unless the company improves their living conditions, according to a report in the Gulf Daily News newspaper. The case would be in addition to criminal charges that are expected to be pressed against the company, the report quoted Indias Ambassador to Bahrain Balkrishna Shetty as saying. The workers case could lead to payout of hundreds of thousands of Bahraini dinars by the company to the workers, he said.
